History and Philosophy

Bahamas Hot Mix Co., Ltd ("BHM") is the Bahamas' leading asphalt paving company.

Founded in 1984 by a group of Bahamian businessmen with construction backgrounds the company has had a successful operating history during which it has evolved into a diversified group of businesses specializing in Civil Engineering and Heavy Construction Projects in the Bahamas.

Clients have historically enjoyed our commitment to delivering turnkey solutions for all heavy construction and infrastructure demands. BHM has a well earned reputation of delivering quality results within budget and on schedule.

One of the greatest advantages of working with BHM is that our experienced team of highly qualified professionals directly manage contracts from start to finish including all aspects of the organization and supervision of works, scheduling, procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, risk management and quality assurance and testing to ISO standards. Not only does this allow our clients to focus on other aspects of their development project but it also allows us to stand behind our work.

We know that our clients demand the very best from us and so we, in turn, make the same demand of ourselves. Management will continue to expand on our focus towards additional accreditation so that we hold ourselves to the same standard as other international companies.

Stability and Financial Strength

BHM is the only privately owned Company in New Providence to own and operate a stationary asphalt plant; with two fully mobile asphalt plants for our Family Island projects, with each of the three plants having a 160 ton per hour capacity. To supplement its core asphalt business the company owns an extensive fleet of excavation and drainage equipment including a well drilling rig with self circulatory water supply.

We have a predominately-Bahamian workforce in excess of 270 people and are wholly Bahamian owned.

Engineering and Logistical Savings

BHM provides value-engineering savings when possible with the goal of identifying products of a similar or better specification to those specified or alternative construction options.
